Knights to hold meat raffle

The Father Baker Council Knights of Columbus, at 2838 S. Park Ave., Lackawanna, will host a meat raffle at 6 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 10. First spin of the wheel is at 7 p.m. The entry fee of $5 per person buys a roast beef sandwich, draft beer and soft drink. There will be a 50/50 raffle and door prizes. Music will be provided by Nickel City Road Show. No children are allowed, and no alcohol can be brought into the hall. For more information, call 675-1804.

Smart driver safety course slated

Great Erie Federal Credit Union will host an AARP smart driver safety course from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 17, in the creative arts room within Fox Run at Orchard Park, One Fox Run Lane. Costs are $25 for non-AARP members and $20 for AARP members. An AARP card is necessary to receive the discount. Prepayment and registration are required, as space is limited. Stop by the credit union’s branch at 4000 N. Buffalo Road to sign up.

Left, Right and Center meeting set for Nov. 8

Left, Right and Center, a political discussion group, will hold its next meeting at 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 8, at Orchard Park Presbyterian Church, 4369 S. Buffalo St. The discussion will focus on the fallout of the midterm elections, as well as the immigration and health care issues. Chamber sets sexual harassment prevention training

The Orchard Park Chamber of Commerce has teamed up with Gail Orffeo of Human Resources Simplified to offer all chamber members the opportunity to fulfill the new mandatory state requirement for every employee to receive sexual harassment prevention training. Each employer will receive the required policy needed for posting, and employees will get the required complaint form. Two training sessions will be held from 9 to 10 a.m. and 3 to 4 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 14, at La Galleria Banquets, 3923 Southwestern Blvd. The cost per person is $25 and includes refreshments.
