SAVE THE DATE — During November, there will be a few more inside events than normal, as temperatures change to the chilly side.

The Friends of the Orchard

Park Library will hold the organization’s fall book sale from Friday, Nov. 16, through Sunday, Nov. 18, at the library, 4570 S. Buffalo St.

The sale will take place in two rooms, with the community room featuring adult fiction and nonfiction offerings, while children, youth and young adult fiction and nonfiction, along with cookbooks and cooking magazines, DVDs, CDs and audio books, will be in the front glass foyer behind the information desk.

According to library officials, all books and media are in excellent, very good or good condition.

The hours and dates of the sale are:

• 2 to 5 p.m. Friday, Nov. 16 — Members of Friends of the Orchard Park Library only. Nonmembers may join the organization for a small fee that evening and will then be eligible to attend the members-only sale.

• 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 17 — Open to the public. A special bag sale will run from 2 to 3 p.m. Bags are $5.

• Noon to 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 18 — A special bag sale will be held. Bags are $2.

Membership in the Friends of the Orchard Park Library is open to anyone. Annual membership starts at $10, and membership applications will be available at the book sale.

Proceeds from the book sales and memberships are used to help support the library through additional programming, equipment, children’s summer reading and special events throughout the year.

While it’s not in November, residents will have the entire month to look forward to Holiday in the Park.

The Village of Orchard Park Events and Celebrations Committee will present Holiday in the Park from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 1, at the Orchard Park Railroad Depot, 395 S. Lincoln Ave.

The event will include a parade through the village, hayrides, crafts, storytime with Mrs. Claus, face painting, a visit with Santa, a tree lighting and more.

Food and beverages will be available throughout the event, which is sponsored by the Orchard Park Chamber of Commerce and Arthur’s Hardware.
