First responders were called to 35 Lakeridge Drive Saturday morning for a structure fire. No one was injured, but damage to the residence is estimated at $200,000. A Saturday morning structure fire caused an estimated $200,000 in damage to a Lakeridge Drive residence, according to Orchard Park police.

At 8:17 a.m., police were called to 35 Lakeridge for a report of a structure fire at the residence.

On arrival, the roof and second story of the residence were fully engulfed in flames.

Firefighters from Hillcrest, Windom and Orchard Park fire companies responded quickly and were able to get the fire under control before the rest of the house caught fire.

All residents and pets were evacuated from the home and no injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation, but a preliminary investigation points toward the home likely being struck by lightning as a storm passed through the area.

Units from Scranton, Hamburg and Newton Abbott fire companies assisted Orchard Park’s fire crews on the scene.
