Explore the life of RFK on Oct. 12

The Orchard Park Senior Center, 70 Linwood Ave., offers many programs for people older than 55. Contact the center at 662-6452 to register for programs. The Senior Center director is Debbie Santiago.

Weekly events include bridge at 12:30 p.m. Mondays; mind aerobics at 1 p.m. Mondays; bingo at 1 p.m. Tuesdays; popcorn and a movie at 1 p.m. Wednesdays; knitting at 1 p.m. Thursdays; and pinochle at 1 p.m. Fridays.

RFK’s Road to the 1968 Presidential Campaign — At 1:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 12, come to the center to look back at Robert Kennedy’s life. Len Lenihan, former Democratic Committee chair and Norman Mineo, retired banker and history enthusiast, will look at Kennedy’s character, his role in his brother John’s life, his relationship with Lyndon Johnson and why he decided to run for president.

Intermediate tap dance — will be held at 10 a.m. Thursdays from now through Oct. 25. The cost of the eight-week session is $30.

Men’s fitness — will be held from 9 to 10 a.m. Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from now through Dec. 13. The cost of the 10-week session is $40.

Sketch class — will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesdays from Oct. 24 through Nov. 28. The cost of the six-week session is $25.

Advanced tai chi — will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesdays through Nov. 14. The cost of the eight-week session is $30.

Zumba will be held at 11 a.m. Thursdays through Nov. 1. The cost of the eight-week session is $30.

Mind aerobics will be held at 1 p.m. Mondays. There is no cost for the brainteaser activity.

Bingo will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesdays. Boards for the hour-long program are $1.

Mahjong will be held at 1 p.m. Fridays.

The meal calendar is as follows: Oct. 15, beef pepper casserole; Oct. 16, stuffed shells; Oct. 17, boneless chicken breast; Oct. 18, roast beef.
