Mental Health Association to change name

The Mental Health Association of Erie County Inc. has changed its name to Mental Health Advocates of Western New York. The new name and logo reflect the current programs, mission and geographic areas served by the nonprofit agency. Pending funding, the agency plans to develop an enhanced, interactive website to better address user needs and interests. Buffalo Cigar Festival set for Sept. 15

The second annual Buffalo Cigar Festival will be taking place from noon to 8 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 15, at the Wings Meeting Place in Orchard Park. The event is sponsored by Buffalo Cigars, and more than 800 guests are anticipated. Music will continue all day, and the headliner is Eric Van Houten. General admission tickets include a swag bag with 15 premium cigars and accessories, access to music and cigar vendors, five beer tickets and all-you-can-eat food. Hispanic student scholarships being accepted

Scholarship applications are being accepted for full-time college students of Hispanic origin. Students must have completed at least 24 degree credit-hours and maintained at least a 2.75 grade point average. The three available scholarships include: the HWL Scholarship, KeyBank Scholarship and Bryant & Stratton Scholarship. The deadline is Saturday, Sept. 15.
