Market to continue through Oct. 4

BlueCross BlueShield of WNY is holding the third season of the Orchard Park farmers and artisans market from 3 to 7 p.m. Thursdays until Oct. 4 in front of Orchard Fresh, 4050 N. Buffalo Road. Each week, the market will feature 18 vendors, made up of a mix of local farmers and artisans; two food trucks; and live music from 4 to 6 p.m. The music is sponsored by Envision Real Estate and Premium Mortgage.

Artisan fair set at Father Baker

Father Baker Manor, 6400 Powers Road, will host its annual artisan fair and market from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 25. Artisans, crafters and market vendors may reserve a 12-foot-square exhibit space for $35. Participants are also asked to donate a raffle item/basket representing their business or booth for a lucky-draw raffle. Service to analyze Lennon’s ‘Imagine’

The John Lennon song “Imagine” will be the focus of a special Sunday worship service at 9:30 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 12, at Orchard Park Presbyterian Church, 4369 S. Buffalo St. Singer, songwriter and guitarist Doug Yeomans will join the Rev. Frances Manley to explore the famous song.

Strictly Hip scheduled for Aug. 25

Strictly Hip will play from 7 to 10 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 25, at Spot Coffee, 6519 E. Quaker St. This is part of the Spot Coffee summer concert series.

‘Shrek’ to be screened

“Shrek” will be screened as the first free outdoor movie at Chestnut Ridge Park. The movie will run from 8:15 to 10 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 25. The outdoor screenings at Chestnut Ridge are sponsored by Polymer Conversions, University Pediatric Dentistry and Arthur’s.

Railroad depot to hold chicken barbecue

The Western New York Railway Historical Society will be sponsoring its annual chicken barbecue at 11 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 12, at the Orchard Park Railroad Depot, 395 S. Lincoln Ave. The cost of the dinners is $10 and will be takeout only. The dinners will be prepared by Wendel’s Poultry Farm. Proceeds from the barbecue will benefit the ongoing restoration of the depot site. For more information, call the depot at 662-7002.
