Orchard Park man dead in Baker Road car crash

An Orchard Park man was killed early Tuesday in a car accident on Baker Road after his car struck a large tree and burst into flames, according to authorities.

A little after 2 a.m., police were informed that a car had crashed on Baker and was on fire. Patrol units and the Orchard Park Fire Company were dispatched to the scene immediately.

The vehicle was fully engulfed in flames when patrol arrived.

The car, a 2009 Chevy Malibu, had been traveling south on Baker when it left the roadway and struck the tree, then spun out on the side of the road, where it burst into flames.

The operator of the vehicle, Jack Corbett, 19, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police were assisted in their investigation by members of the Orchard Park Fire Company and the West Seneca Police Department’s Accident Investigation Unit.

The investigation is ongoing.
