The Orchard Park School District presided over another uneventful annual budget vote and trustee election, with the budget and bus proposition passing and two individuals taking seats on the Board of Education in an uncontested race.

The first proposition on the ballot, a $102 million budget including the addition of a school resource officer, received 835 votes for and 295 votes against.

The second proposition, a $792,000 bus purchase, received 891 votes in favor and 230 against. The district will purchase two 77-passenger school buses, two 65-passenger school buses, two 34-passenger school buses and two 30-passenger school buses.

In the trustee election, Karen Kane was re-elected to the board with 931 votes. Running for the first time, Ryan Cimo is headed to the board after receiving 906 votes. The three-year terms for both trustees will run from July 1, 2018, to June 30, 2021.
