HEAP outreach dates to assist residents in need

Home Energy Assistance Program outreaches will be held throughout the county to assist residents in need this year. We urge people to visit an outreach for any help they need in submitting their applications.

Attendees do not have to live in the specific town, village or city hosting the outreach to attend.

Interviews will begin at 10 a.m. and continue until 4 p.m., unless otherwise noted. The doors open at 9:30 a.m. All applicants will be interviewed.

HEAP is a federally funded program to assist income-eligible Erie County residents with the costs of home heating, electricity and energy conservation. The HEAP outreach will be administered by the Erie County departments of Social Services and Senior Services and is open to all income-eligible households. A HEAP outreach will be hosted by Legislator John Mills on Thursday, Jan. 25 in the Evans

Town Hall Courtroom,

8787 Erie Road, Angola.

Applicants must bring the following documentation to the outreach:

Proof of gross income received within the last 30 days for all household members. a. Wages: If paid weekly, last four pay stubs b. Wages: If paid biweekly, last two pay stubs c. Award letters, if applicable, including Social Security, pension, unemployment, workers’ compensation or disability. d. Yearly statement of interest received — savings, checking, CDs, money market accounts. e. Dividend proof — stocks, bonds, securities. Social Security numbers for all household members. One form of ID for all household members — birth certificate or Social Security card or driver’s license or school ID.

Proof of residency — Rent receipt, mortgage statement, utility bill.

Current heat and/or electric bill.
