Christmas card event set for Nov. 16

The Orchard Park Senior Center, 70 Linwood Ave., offers many programs for people older than 55 years. Contact the center at 662-6452 to register for programs. The Senior Center director is Debbie Santiago.

Weekly events include bridge at 12:30 p.m. Mondays; mind aerobics at 1 p.m. Mondays; bingo at 1 p.m. Tuesdays; popcorn and a movie at 1 p.m. Wednesdays; knitting at 1 p.m. Thursdays; and pinochle at 1 p.m. Fridays.

The Community Activities Council will hold a forum from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 14, to explain the Orchard Park Community Activities Center capital campaign, share the reasons for the new building and answer questions about fundraising plans. Refreshments will be included. Register in the office to attend the presentation.

Handmade Christmas cards — At 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 16, Margaret Pannella teaches the art of quilting while also creating a handmade Christmas card. Cost is $12, and supplies are included. Register and pay in the office.

Advanced tai chi will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesdays through Dec. 20. The cost of the eight-week session is $30.

Evening Zumba will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesdays from Nov. 7 through Dec. 12. The cost of the six-week session is $22.

Tap dancing for fun will be held at 9:30 a.m. Mondays from Nov. 27 through Dec. 18. The cost of the four-week class is $15.

Watercolor painting will be held at 10:30 a.m. Fridays from Nov. 17 through Dec. 29. The cost of the six-week session is $25.

Men’s Fitness will be held from 9 to 10 a.m. Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays through Dec. 12. The cost of the 10-week session is $40.

Bingo will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesdays. Boards for the hourlong program are $1.

Mahjong will be held at 1 p.m. Fridays. The meal calendar is as follows: Nov. 13, breaded chicken breast; Nov. 14, breaded veal patty; Nov. 15, ham steak; Nov. 16, hot dog.
