BaloneyFEST set for May 20

The Youth Ministry of St. Bernadette’s Church will present BaloneyFEST from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, May 20, at the church, 5930 S Abbott Road. Featuring locally made Wardynski bologna, the event will serve fried bologna with a variety of toppings. The meals will also include, potato salad, a drink and a cookie. Individuals can dine in or take out. Proceeds from the event will be used for youth retreats and attendance at the national Life Teen conference. Destination Imagination event set

A fundraiser will be held to send five Orchard Park Middle School boys to the Destination Imagination global finals in Knoxville, Tennessee, at the end of May. The fundraiser will be held from 4 to 10 p.m. Thursday, May 18, at Denny’s, 3165 Southwestern Blvd. The benefit will also include a small auction. The Destination Imagination team, “Endoplasmic Reticulators,” will receive 20 percent of the pretax proceeds from all sales to help send members to the global finals.

Farmers and Artisans Market begins May 25

The second season of the Orchard Park Farmers & Artisans Market will begin at 3 p.m. Thursday, May 25, in the parking lot in front of Orchard Fresh, 4050 N. Buffalo Road. This year the market will run for 22 weeks, from 3 to 7 p.m. every Thursday afternoon. Each week, the market will feature approximately 20 vendors, made up of a mix of local farmers and artisans, two food trucks and live music.

OPUMC to hold chicken barbecue

The Orchard Park United Methodist Church will hold a Chiavetta’s chicken barbecue from 3 to 7 p.m. Saturday, May 20, at the church, 3700 N. Buffalo St. The dinner includes a half-chicken, macaroni salad, coleslaw, baked beans, roll and butter, and cake. Individuals can dine in or take out. The adult meal is $11.95, while the children’s meal is $7.

WNYB-TV schedules open house

WNYB-TV, located at 5775 Big Tree Road, and Western New York’s Christian television station provided through the TCT network, will hold an open house from 1 to 7 p.m. Thursday, May 18, at the station. The open house is to celebrate 40 years of Christian television for the TCT network.

Networking meeting set for May 25

Business Connections, the Orchard Park Chamber of Commerce’s networking group, will meet at 8 a.m. Thursday, May 25, in the basement of the Municipal Center, 4295 S. Buffalo St. For further information, contact the Chamber office at 662-3366.

Zonta Club sets meeting for June 12

The Zonta Club of Hamburg and Orchard Park will hold its next meeting at 6 p.m. Monday, June 12, at JP Fitzgerald’s, 4236 Clark St., Hamburg. The club will host its scholarship winners and their families during the meeting. Call 649-6135 for more information.

Windom PTO sets chicken barbecue

The Windom Elementary PTO will sponsor a Weidner’s chicken barbecue from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, May 18, at the school, 3870 Sheldon Road. Presale tickets are available for $10. At the door, tickets will be $12 each. Only cash will be accepted. Dinners are takeout only. Drive-thru pickup is available. Jolls House Museum to hold open house

The Orchard Park Historical Society will host summer tours of the Jolls House Museum, 4287 S. Buffalo St. Tours will be from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Monday, May 29; 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, June 3; and 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, June 17. Also, the society will celebrate the 121st birthday of the late Millie Michelfelder, longtime Jolls housekeeper, with cake and punch served at the house from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, May 20. Goodwill offerings are appreciated.

Benefit to be held for Veterans Park

The Buffalo Blues Benefit for Veterans music campaign will host a fundraiser from 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday, May 28, at The Byrd House, 4190 N. Buffalo Road. Providing live music will be Five to One, which includes the project’s producer, Bob James, on guitar. James is a native of Orchard Park. Also playing will be the Vega-Harrison-Corsi Band.
