Driver education

The Orchard Park Central School District is accepting registrations for the summer 2011 Driver Education session. Both district and non-district residents may register. Classes begin July 5 and run through mid-August. The fee is $450. The course includes 24 hours of classroom instruction; six hours behind the wheel; and 18 hours of in-car observation. Grant funding secured to support Scenic Byway

Funding to support the Western New York Southtowns Scenic Byway has been secured, according to Legislator John Mills, R-Orchard Park. During its May 12 session, the Erie County Legislature unanimously voted to allot $5,000 to assist the WNY Scenic Byway in obtaining a $66,000 federal grant. Composting site open house a success

Orchard Park recently had its Free Mulch Day during the open house at the composting site on Milestrip Road, where town residents got one yard of free mulch as well as discounts on any amount purchased.
