Eggert Elementary to present ‘Cinderella Kids’

Eggert Elementary will host the fifth-grade musical production of Disney’s “Cinderella Kids.” with performances at 7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 12, and Tuesday, Feb. 13, at the school, 3580 Eggert Road.

Tickets cost $5 and are available for purchase at www.eggertroadpto.org.

“Cinderella Kids,” an adaptation of the animated film, will charm its way into hearts and remind audiences that dreams really can come true, according to a statement from the district.

Poor Cinderella is endlessly mistreated by her wicked stepmother and stepsisters and denied a chance to go to the royal ball. With a little help from her mice friends — and a lot of help from her Fairy Godmother — Cinderella’s dreams come true. She goes to the ball, meets the prince and falls in love.

The entire fifth-grade class of students makes up the cast of the musical. The show is directed by Rebecca Filsinger and features set design from Brian Muffoletto, costumes from Pat Burakowski and choreography by Eileen LaPenta. All are teachers at Eggert Elementary.

“Cinderella Kids” is presented through a special arrangement with Music Theatre International, a dramatic licensing agency that grants schools as well as amateur and professional theaters from around the world the rights to perform the largest selection of musicals from Broadway and beyond.
