Churches set health, wellness fair

Nativity of Our Lord and Orchard Park Presbyterian churches will hold a community health and wellness fair from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 22, at the Nativity of Our Lord Parish Center, 4414 S. Buffalo St. More than 40 vendors will take part.

Bread Man to kick off lunch series

Orchard Park Presbyterian Church’s “Let’s do Lunch” series opens its fall season at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 19, at the church, 4369 S. Buffalo St., with Chet Fery, known as “The Bread Man.” Fery will share his Bread Time stories with the audience, following lunch. Attendees will enjoy a catered luncheon featuring sloppy Joe slider sandwiches, coleslaw and brownies. The cost is $10. Cash or checks made payable to the church will be accepted at the door. Vocális Chamber Choir to start season

Vocális Chamber Choir begins its 16th season with “Seasons — Songs for Life’s Journ ey,” a choral exploration of the universal changes and challenges of life. The show is at 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 13, at Orchard Park Presbyterian Church, 4369 S. Buffalo St. The performances include a diverse program featuring the music of Purcell, Finzi, Holst, Whitacre, Kirchner, Runestad and others. Stangler Fine Arts to host exhibition

Stangler Fine Arts, located at 6429 W. Quaker St., will host the Fine Arts League’s Fall Membership Exhibition. The exhibition will run from now until Saturday, Oct. 14. Gallery hours are from noon to 5 p.m. Wednesdays through Fridays and 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturdays. All are welcome to attend and view the art and meet the artist. Oktoberfest fall festival set for Oct. 13

The Chestnut Ridge Conservancy will host its Oktoberfest Fall Festival from 6 to 10:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 13, at the Chestnut Ridge Park casino. This year’s event will have two ticket options, allowing guests to arrive at 6 p.m. for the full program and a German themed meal, or at 8 p.m. for the after-party of German beer, cocktails and snacks. Legion Riders plans pancake breakfast

From 8 a.m. to noon Sunday, Oct. 15, the American Legion Riders of Post 567 will host an all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast at the post, 3740 N. Buffalo Road. Entrance is $8 for adults and $5 for children ages 5 to 12. Children younger than 5 get in free. All proceeds go to LEEK Hunting and Mountain Preserve, a preserve in northern Pennsylvania offering hunting, fishing and target shooting to wounded veterans at no cost.

Market ongoing at Orchard Fresh

The second season of the Orchard Park Farmers & Artisans Market will run from 3 to 7 p.m. Thursdays in the parking lot in front of Orchard Fresh, 4050 N. Buffalo Road. Each week, the market will feature approximately 20 vendors, made up of a mix of local farmers and artisans, as well as two food trucks and live music.

WNYB-TV, churches partnering for relief

WNYB-TV, located at 5775 Big Tree Road, is partnering with local churches and community members to send truckloads of needed supplies to help those suffering from the aftermath of the hurricanes. The station is accepting all items from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday at the station. Call 662-2659 for details or to schedule a drop-off.

Church to hold fall bazaar

Windom Community Church, at 3766 Abbott Road, will hold a fall bazaar from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 14, at the church. There will be booths dedicated to baked goods, theme baskets, used books, children’s games and more. Pizza, chili and soft drinks will be available for purchase. Call 649-6261 for more information.

Senior group to make casino trip

The Armor Seniors will take a trip to Seneca Allegany Casino for “Elvis, King of Rock & Roll” on Tuesday, Nov. 14. The cost of the trip is $69 for lunch buffet, transportation, show and $20 for slots.

‘Lunch and Learn’ seminar scheduled

Jeff Ryan, a member of the Small Business Partners, will present “Customer Relationship Management” as part of the Orchard Park Chamber of Commerce’s “Lunch and Learn” seminars. The seminar will be held from noon to 1 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 17, in the chamber office, 6524 E. Quaker St. Ryan will discuss the tools, technologies and procedures to manage and facilitate sales, support and related interactions with customers, prospects and business partners. Historical Society sets Jolls House tours

The Orchard Park Historical Society will offer a tour of the Jolls House Museum, located at 4287 S. Buffalo St., from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 21.

Meeting to establish Visual Arts Boosters

At 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 16, a general information meeting will be held for the purpose of establishing the Orchard Park Visual Arts Boosters. The focus of the boosters will be to support visual arts events and creative opportunities for Orchard Park students and community. The meeting will be held at the Orchard Park Middle School cafeteria, 60 S. Lincoln Ave.

Legion to hold meat raffle on Oct. 21

American Legion Post 567, located at 3740 N. Buffalo Road, will host a meat raffle at 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 21. A $5 entrance fee includes soft drinks, snacks and beer. Proceeds will benefit the Legion’s building fund.

Senior group plans Oktoberfest gala

The Orchard Park Senior Group will be celebrating Oktoberfest at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 18, at the Orchard Park American Legion Post 567, 3740 N. Buffalo Road. The Oktoberfest event will feature a German lunch from Orchard Fresh and music from the Grandfathers Band. The cost is $15 for nonmembers. Reservations are required; call 674-8661 to reserve a spot.

Networking meeting set for Oct. 26

Business Connections, the Orchard Park Chamber of Commerce’s networking group, will meet at 8 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 26, in the basement of the Municipal Center, 4295 S. Buffalo St. For further information, call the chamber at 662-3366.
