‘Lunch and Learn’ seminar slated

Bill Knoche from Less Talk Selling will present “Why So Many Small Business Owners Struggle with Sales and Building Their Sales Teams” as part of the Orchard Park Chamber of Commerce’s “Lunch and Learn” series. The seminar will run from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 13, in the Chamber office, 6524 E. Quaker St. Knoche will discuss how to open more doors, close more sales and make more money. The cost is $15 per person and includes lunch. To register, call the chamber at 662-3366.

Market ongoing at Orchard Fresh

The second season of the Orchard Park Farmers & Artisans Market will run from 3 to 7 p.m. Thursdays in the parking lot in front of Orchard Fresh, 4050 N. Buffalo Road. Each week, the market will feature approximately 20 vendors, made up of a mix of local farmers and artisans, as well as two food trucks and live music.

Towne Lincoln to hold mixer

Towne Lincoln, located at 3535 Southwestern Blvd., will host the next Chamber business after-hours mixer. The mixer will run from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 13. To register, members and their guests may call the Chamber office at 662-3366 by Tuesday, Sept. 12.

Tennis tournament scheduled

The third annual Chestnut Ridge Summer Classic Tennis Tournament will be held between Thursday, Sept. 7, and Sunday, Sept. 10. The four-day tournament is open to all ages. The tournament will run from 3 to 8 p.m. Thursday and Friday, and from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. The entry fee for singles is $25 and $12.50 each for doubles. Quaker Arts Festival planned

The 56th annual Quaker Arts Festival will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 16, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 17, at the Orchard Park Middle School campus, 60 S. Lincoln Ave. More than 300 artists and craftsmen will exhibit their items. For more information, visit www.opjaycees.com.

Conservancy plans movie night

The Chestnut Ridge Conservancy will present an outdoor movie night from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 16, on the lawn next to the Chestnut Ridge Park casino. The movie being shown will be the animated version of “Beauty and the Beast.” If it rains, the movie will be shown inside the casino.

Chamber sets networking event

Business Connections, the Chamber’s networking group, will meet at 8 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 14, in the basement of the Municipal Center, 4295 S. Buffalo St. For further information, call the Chamber office at 662-3366.

Dance team to perform during Quaker Arts Festival

The Hot Country Liners Dance Team will perform during the Quaker Arts Festival at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 16, at the outdoor entertainment stage, 60 S. Lincoln Ave.

Artify the Park slated for Sept. 23

The second annual Artify the Park will be held from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 23, throughout Chestnut Ridge Park. The event will include a chance for attendees to meet local artists and watch them prepare their pieces of art. The event is free.

Zonta Club meeting set for Sept. 11

The Zonta Club of Hamburg and Orchard Park will meet at 6 p.m. Monday, Sept. 11, at JP Fitzgerald’s, 4236 Clark St., Hamburg. This will be a planning meeting for the upcoming year. Call 649-6135 for more information.

Needlework display planned for the Jolls House

The Southtown Needle Nuts, a chapter of the Embroiderers Guild of America, will be hosting a needlework display at the Jolls House, 4287 S. Buffalo, St., on Saturdays Sept. 16 and 23 and Sundays Sept. 17 and 24. On display will be a variety of needlework pieces, from small pincushions and scissor-fobs to large intricate wall hangings. All of the pieces are handcrafted by Southtowns residents and display a large cross-section of needlework techniques. Show times are from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays and 1 to 4 p.m. Sundays. Admission is free and there will be a boutique with items on sale.
