Winter Guard presents ‘Winterscape’ program
The Orchard Park Winter Guard team will present Winterscape at 5 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 4, at Orchard Park High School, 4040 Baker Road, in the gymnaseum. Orchard Park Winter Guard will perform along with 21 other guards. There will be a guest performace by the Orchard Park Middle School band and the East Aurora Middle School Band. Tickets cost $6 and are available at the door.
Episcopalian course offered at St. Mark’s
St. Mark’s Episcopal Church will offer a free course titled “Everything you always wanted to know about being an Episcopalian” from 9 to 10 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 5, at the church, 6595 E. Quaker St. The church requests that people call 662-4418 or email sean.leonard.stmarksop.org to make a reservation.
Concert organist set to play at church
Concert organist Gail Archer will play at 4 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 5, at Orchard Park Presbyterian Church, 4369 S. Buffalo St. Admission is $10 per person. There will be an open master class taught by Archer at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 4, at the church. The event is part of the church’s “Music and the Arts” series. For more information, call 662-9348.
Garden Club set to meet at church
The Orchard Park Garden Club will meet next at noon on Thursday, Feb. 2, at the Orchard Park Presbyterian Church, 4369 S. Women’s Club to hold meeting at restaurant
The Women’s Club of Orchard Park will hold its monthly meeting at noon Wednesday, Feb. 8, at Danny’s South restaurant, 4300 Abbott Road.
Scholarship audition slated for Feb. 7
The Women’s Committee of the Orchard Park Symphony will hold its annual music scholarship competition at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 7, at the Orchard Park Presbyterian Church, 4369 S. Buffalo Road. The scholarship is open to all Orchard Park students in ninth through 11th grades. Scholarships totaling $1,000 will be awarded. Southtowns FJC celebrates one year
The Southtowns Family Justice Center satellite will celebrate its one-year anniversary from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 9, at the Orchard Park County Club, 4777 S. Buffalo St. Jim Wilson, Peter Sukmanowski and the Zonta Chapters of Erie County will all be honored. It will also be a memorial for Aasiya Hassan. Tickets may be purchased for $35. Orchard Glen to host Mardi Gras party

Chamber Alliance to hold legislative forum
The Western New York Chamber Alliance is presenting its second annual State Legislative Forum from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 10, at the Creekside Banquet Facility, 2669 Union Road at William Street in Cheektowaga. The cost is $15 per person. To register, call 662-3366. This forum will present an opportunity to question legislators relating to business. It will be moderated by David Robinson. There will be a question-and-answer session with predetermined questions, as well as questions from the audience.
Legion accepting coats for collection drive
The American Legion Auxiliary is having a coat and clothing collection drive for homeless veterans. The program is through the Veterans Hospital Homeless Veterans Program to provide new or gently used laundered coats and clothing for men and women. It also needs underwear, undershirts, long johns, socks, hats and gloves. Contributions can be dropped off at the Orchard Park American Legion, 3740 N. Buffalo Road. Fox Run to host artists reception
From 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 15, Fox Run at Orchard Park will host an artist reception at the Gyda Higgins Gallery, located in the Commons building, 1 Fox Run Lane. The reception will highlight 10 of its community and team members’ photographs. In October, a group from Fox Run led by professional photographer Katie Scheider toured Newton Farm. Candelight vigil planned for families of 3407
The Families of Flight 3407 invite the community to join them for a candlelight vigil on Sunday. Feb. 12. At 9:45 p.m., the group will gather at the Zion Lutheran Church, 9535 Clarence Center Road, Clarence Center. There will be a candlelight procession to the site on Long Street where there will be a brief ceremony of remembrance. Each participant is encouraged to bring a candle for the procession. Parking is available at the church. People are asked to refrain from parking on Long Street.
Chamber to hold Lunch & Learn program
The next Lunch & Learn program will be a seminar titled “Creating a Litigation-Free Workplace.” It will be from noon to 1 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 16, in the Orchard Park Chamber of Commerce conference room, 4211 N. Buffalo St., Suite 14. A box lunch is included in the $10 registration fee. Seating is limited to 12. Reservations are required. Victorian tea slated for Feb. 12 at church
The Presbyterian Women will be holding a Victorian Tea at 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 12, at the Orchard Park Presbyterian Church, 4369 S. Buffalo St. While enjoying a catered meal, attendees will hear harp music followed by a program by Denise Reichard, who will portray Clara Barton. The cost is $5. Tickets will be available for purchase at the church on Feb. 5.
Coffee Hour planned by Women’s Committee
The Women’s Committee of the Orchard Park Symphony will host a Coffee Hour at 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 16, at the Orchard Park Presbyterian Church, 4369 S. Buffalo St., in the Irene Irving Room. Seminar offered on successful aging
A seminar on successful aging will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 16, at Quaker’s Landing, 101 Sterling Drive. Information will be shared on successfully planning ahead to reduce unnecessary taxes, legal fees and other expenses.
