Student creates handbook design
Tyler Popiela, a senior at Orchard Park High School, designed the 2012-13 high school curriculum handbook cover.
School administrators chose Popiela’s design out of almost 50, all created by students. Each of the principals at the high school were faced with the task of choosing several of their favorite designs and then meeting to choose the winner.
Students in Angelo Daluisio’s graphic communications class were given an ungraded assignment to create the future handbook design. Popiela used the program In- Design to create the winning design.
STAP-Comm, part of the high school’s student government, offered a $50 prize to the student who created the winning design.
Popiela received the check and a copy of the 2012-13 curriculum handbook on Jan. 17.
