Chestnut Ridge hosts snowman-making contest
Chestnut Ridge Park will host a snowman making contest from noon to 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 19, at the park, 6121 Chestnut Ridge Road.
All the supplies needed to build snowmen will be provided, along with prizes and complimentary refreshments. Participants are encouraged to preregister online for the event, which makes them eligible for additional prizes.
The event is sponsored by the BlueCross BlueShield of WNY’s Healthy Changes Everything initiative, encouraging people to get outside and work toward a healthier lifestyle.
“We want to encourage everyone to take one small step toward a healthier lifestyle,” said Gretchen Fierle, vice president and chief communications officer of BlueCross.
In the absence of snow, attendees will create “snow crows,” a winter take on the standard fall creation.
