Walmart would add to congested traffic

After the holidays on a Tuesday afternoon, we remarked how busy and overloaded the roads and intersections at Lake Avenue and Orchard Park Road were on the way into the village. All logic precludes any more large-scale commercial incursions, which would increase traffic in these already overburdened residential areas.

With New York State willing to spend one billion dollars on substantive industrial development in the Buffalo area, isn’t it time for Orchard Park to dig out of the mud regarding the Walmart parcel and return this property to industrial use?

With many of its customers clambering for a reopening of its vacated McKinley store just two miles away, this would assure Walmart of no additional competition at this location. It’s time for the Orchard Park Board to rise and shine and make a sensible deal for all concerned.
