BNCC to host pair of tournaments
The Buffalo Niagara Court Center will be hosting both a pickleball and special volleyball tournament during the next month and a half at its facility, located at 425 Meyer Road in West Seneca.
The Buffalo Pickleball Club’s September Pickleball Tournament will begin at 9 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 26. Pickleball most closely resembles full-scale table tennis, and the tournament is open to teenagers through senior citizens. More information on the sport can be found at www.buffalopickleballclub. com, and registration information for the tournament is available at www.bnccsports. com.
A co-ed charity volleyball tournament, meanwhile, will be held starting at 9 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 9. The 2010 Color Me Cured Adult tournament will be divided into co-ed recreational and co-ed intermediate divisions, with four men and two women required on the court at all times.
Participating teams can select which cancer they would like to fight for and will be given specifically colored T-shirts to represent that cancer. The cost is $150 per team, and each team must also donate a theme basket that will be used in the charity auction.
For more information on the tournament, contact Rocco Lucci via e-mail (rocco@bnccsports. com) or visit the facility’s Web site.
