While Kids Day was quieter, Bills game still full of arrests

The Buffalo Bills played their first game at Ralph Wilson Stadium in 2010 to a packed crowd on Saturday, albeit preseason.

Despite a combination of Kids Day events outside of the stadium, and a 35-20 win by the Bills over the Cincinnati Bengals inside, police said there were still a number of arrests and incidents.

“It was a little busier than normal for Kids Day,” said Orchard Park Detective Lt. Patrick McMaster. “But it was the same type of arrests.”

The arrests included:

• A 48-year-old Buffalo man was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana and with resale of tickets. McMaster said the latter is a cultural affairs law because scalpers are not allowed to resell tickets within 1,500-feet of the stadium.

• Several charges were filed against a 60-year-old Orchard Park man after the game following an injury accident on Chestnut Ridge Road near Gartman Road in which he struck another vehicle from behind. He was charged with driving while intoxicated, third degree aggravated unlicensed operation, speeding, driving without a license, following too closely, improper turning, failure to obey a stop sign and failure to drive on the right side of the road.

• After getting into an altercation with a female, a 25-year-old Orchard Park man was charged with criminal contempt and second degree harassment. He was charged with a second count of criminal contempt at the police station after calling the female from the station, despite an order of protection placed against him.

• A complaint was made by a Sloan man who said unknown person entered his vehicle and stole his an unknown person entered his vehicle and stole his wallet from the glove compartment, which contained cash and various forms of identification.

• A purse stolen from a Williamsville woman out of a vehicle in the parking lot. The purse contained a cell phone, credit cards, a debit card, identification and a check book.

• Police are trying to determine who broke a passenger side door on a vehicle and stole a purse which contained credit cards.

• A backpack was taken from a vehicle. It contained a computer, keyboard and an iPod Touch.

• A Bradford, Pa. woman told officers someone popped the handle off her vehicle, and stole her purse, which had a license, check book, $80 in cash and benefits cards.

• Harassment and obstruction of governmental administration charges were levied against a 23-year-old Orchard Park man.

• A 30-year-old Rochester man faces a disorderly conduct charge.

• A criminal trespass charge was made against a 21-year-old Buffalo man.

• Exposure charges were filed against a 21-year-old Lancaster man.

• A 20-year-old West Seneca male is charged with criminal trespass.

• Possession of alcohol by a person under age 21 and false impersonation charges were levied against a 20-year-old Lackawanna male.

• A 53-year-old Delhi, Ont. man was charged with disorderly conduct.

• Disorderly conduct, criminal trespass, harassment and resisting arrest charges were filed against a 32-year-old Blasdell man.

• A 26-year-old Phoenix, N.Y. man was charged with criminal trespass.

• Possession of alcohol by a person under age 21 was charged against an 18-year-old Niagara Falls male.

• Criminal trespass charges were filed against a 29-year-old Liverpool, N.Y. man.
